Conference update

I’m back from the NASSR conference!  I have to say it was one of the best academic experiences I’ve ever had.  One of the great things about conferences is the opportunity to meet people in your field (and to geek out over shared interests).  NASSR was no exception-I met several interesting people and listened to some really great presentations.  In the next few days, I’ll be writing about some of the things I learned in hopes that I can pass on helpful tidbits.

For today’s post, I have to gush about Vancouver itself.  If you haven’t been, go now.  The weather was beautiful (sunny, even though it was supposed to rain while I was there).  It was breezy, cool, and I didn’t see one mosquito–though my husband reminds me there are mosquitos even in Alaska.

I rented a bike and rode around Stanley Park.  I took a ferry and visited Granville Island.  I ate at Café Crêpe.

I love the weather, shopping, dining, parks and recreation, and the people.  Pictures will accompany posts later this week.  As for now, I’m going to try to catch up on my email and play with the 100% silk yarn I bought (!!!).  Great trip!
