Writing, blogging, and school

I went on a little hiatus last week.  There is a direct correlation between my lack of blogging and the amount of “other stuff” I need to do, like school and errands.  Papers are due, names need to be changed.  Sooner or later, something’s gotta give.  And that something last week was blogging.

When I started this blog, I thought it would be a great motivator.  Something to keep me from procrastinating.  “Write everyday” was the advice given, and I thought, “Sounds great, I’ll write a blog.”  And thus here we are.

One thing I’ve noticed in my week off was that writing for a blog does not necessarily correspond to writing in general.  Let me explain what I mean: on the days when I write for my blog, I don’t always write fiction.  On the days that I write fiction, I don’t always write for my blog.  And on the days that I write papers or essays, I don’t write anything else at all.

In the past week, I have turned in one short paper and worked on two short stories.  For the time being, the waters are calm, so I expect to resume my semi-regular blogging schedule.  Don’t be surprised, however, if I disappear for a bit in the future – I’m writing.
